Title: Grace and Good Aim
Rating: PG
Character: Elizabeth Weir
Summary: Now she gouges out hearts with bullets instead of words.

They understood the necessity of having every person in the city armed for the fight. So many were dead, and more were dying in the chaos of the Infirmary, that they couldn’t afford to leave any hands, calloused and rough or smooth and slender, empty.

This was war,
they told themselves, this is a fight we have to win if we’re to survive. And ignoring the sickening feeling in their guts, they gave her a gun.

She took it from them, and the sight of their leader with a weapon, learning to kill, sent chills down their spines; but what terrified them was that she was good at it.

Since my comment exceeded the limit on comments by 96 characters, I figured I should post it over here. :)    (And Sela, I'm getting around to your prompt. I'm just watching some of that old-school SG-1 for "research purposes". )  The other ficlet-a-thon comments can be found over thataway.

Title: What The River Says
[info]Rating: PG-13
Challenge: F**king freezing - [info]sga_flashfic
Pairing:
Sparky
Summary:
And her heart still beats, her lungs still breathe, but she knows she might as well be dead. Maybe she is; maybe, if the ice ever thaws, she'll cease to live suspended in this godforsaken purgatory.

Author's Note: Sort of an alternate Elizabeth/nanite arc, minus the nanites. This was a fun experiment for me, trying to patchwork the story together without being too vague or too detailed. Inspired, partially, by this icon (just add more ice):

If I posted each Elizabeth drabble for the First Annual Elizabeth Weir Drabble-a-Thon separately, I'd be spamming f-lists like there was no tomorrow (this is hope talking, here). So I'm going to collect them all in one post.

To Ride Pegasus, Elizabeth & President Henry Hayes, "I could sink or I could swim.", PG, Gen.

Aah, freedom...

Well, I finished my "25 Fics of Christmas" project (though admittedly with a few a number of retroactive posts), and gave myself a day off yesterday. Unfortunately, my Muses don't know what the phrase "day off" means, so I ended up writing. xP
